This is what I have learned so far, whether it's work or fun, the most crucial thing is lighting. If you get bad lighting then you are in trouble my friend. Know where the light is, you do not want it to be below or above you, you want it to shine directly at you.
The key is no shadow. If you are being shot outside do it in the morning, or wait till the two o'clock shadow has passed. FYI- don't let magazine pictures fool you, they are air brushed and have had the minimal scar or pimple taken off.
Tip your head and learn what angle works with your face: everyone is different so you have to learn what suits you. Tip your neck to elongate it, make eye contact with the camera, no one can look bad if they smile.
Reminder, keep your shoulders back. Always have mouth slightly open, enough to put a penny between your lips, as they make your lips look fuller.
Tilt eyes down and look up just as shutter, is clicked for full eyes.
Share these tips with your entire wedding party, you want everyone to look good, pictures last a life time.
